Export in One Click: How Digitalization Helps Domestic Producers Expand Their Markets

Digitalization today is not merely a tool for efficiency but also an opportunity to remain competitive in the global market. In Kazakhstan, 2026 has been declared the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, with technologies becoming the main driver of non-commodity exports.

Strategic Vector: From Instructions to Solutions

The development of the digital ecosystem is under the close supervision of the country’s leadership. The Head of State has clearly outlined priorities for creating intellectual property and ensuring the export orientation of the IT sector, with particular attention given to the introduction of the digital tenge and interbank QR payments.

At the recent international forum Digital Qazaqstan 2026, it was emphasized that the government is focusing on the full digitalization of the business lifecycle — from registration to entering international markets.

In this context, an important step was the signing of a memorandum between the Baiterek Holding and Astana Hub on the sidelines of the forum on March 27. As a result, more than 1,500 IT companies (residents of the technopark) will be able to receive comprehensive financial and insurance support from the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan (a subsidiary of the National Managing Holding Baiterek) and the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, as well as other credit institutions.

“Personal Account”: Efficiency and Transparency

The Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan provides support to domestic producers in promoting their products in global markets, placing a strong emphasis on digital transformation. The Agency believes that the financial sector must become more accessible, transparent, and convenient for both businesses and citizens.

“A practical step toward creating a barrier-free digital environment for businesses was the launch of our key project — the Exporter’s Personal Account — in December 2024,” noted Allen Chaizhunusov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Agency. “Having studied the experience of developing real-time credit monitoring services and digital platforms for businesses, we created a platform integrated with the bgov.kz portal. For us, this is not just an interface, but a tool for collecting data to support strategic decision-making, and for businesses it is an opportunity to receive government support online.”

Currently, around 150 enterprises are already using ECA products through this platform. They have access to more than 20 instruments ranging from insurance and guarantees to pre-export financing.

The portal allows users to track the status of their applications in real time, upload and exchange documents without paper copies, and create a unified client database. All of this shortens application review times and minimizes export risks.

Domestic exporters have already appreciated the advantages of the “Personal Account.” According to entrepreneurs, the key benefit is the transition to an online format, which eliminates paperwork and makes the application process transparent.

“Exporters’ Showcase”: The Made in Kazakhstan Quality Mark

The next step in implementing the digital agenda was the launch of the international platform “Exporters’ Showcase” (https://export.bgov.kz/). This resource is designed to become a convenient tool for promoting Kazakhstani products in global markets and is aimed at foreign buyers and business partners.

Essentially, it is an expanded catalog of Made in Kazakhstan products with descriptions of their characteristics and consumer properties. It simplifies the search for Kazakhstani products and manufacturers for international clients and creates a convenient digital environment for establishing business contacts. The website already features more than 220 products from 64 exporters, and the list continues to grow daily.

“Only verified manufacturers that have passed our Agency’s verification process are presented on the platform. The ‘Verified by ECA’ status serves as a guarantee of reliability, minimizing risks and strengthening trust when Kazakhstani exporters interact with foreign buyers,” explained Allen Chaizhunusov.

The transformation of the Export Credit Agency — from launching digital services to applying artificial intelligence for analyzing business models — is creating a convenient digital environment for exporters. This simplifies entry into international markets, making government support accessible and understandable for every domestic producer.

Notably, by the end of 2025, the Agency had supported Kazakhstani exporters with more than 650 billion tenge. In total, support was provided to more than 120 exporters, including 20 companies that received such support for the first time. Over 70% of the supported projects were in the SME segment, and the overall economic effect of the implemented initiatives is estimated at 2.3 trillion tenge.

In the current year, the Agency’s priorities include further digital transformation of its services and the formation of a unified ecosystem, as well as scaling up export support and expanding the geography of supplies. This will also be achieved through the introduction of new instruments, including portfolio insurance of export credits in cooperation with second-tier banks and pre-export financing.
